Fantastic Friday!!

I hope you all have a great week and enjoy your weekend.

Though you have no official homework, I would suggest that you start updating your WIKI.  Final drafts will be due next Thursday and you will have a vocab test on units 7-9 next Friday, so use this time to get started!

I am really looking forward to reading those final copies! You are all so creative!

Here is my response to today's journal question (in OER style):

Which invention has had the most positive effect on the human race?

The Internet has had the most notable and positive effect on the human race because it has revolutionized daily life for nearly every person.  Information is more readily available than it ever was before.  A simple click and the world is at the fingertips of any one, anywhere whether they are a high-powered executive in business suit at his desk in Detroit or an inquisitive housewife in her bathrobe at her desktop in Des Moines.  The Internet has also changed the way we communicate.  Email and social networking sites keep us more in touch with one another.  This increase in communication has made us more informed citizens of the world because we are aware of the happenings all over our globe.  Our economy has also been directly affected by the Internet.  Successful Internet companies such as Google and EBay make their e-business thrive from any connection to the World Wide Web.  During this holiday season, I was especially thankful for this invention.  Snow storms had ravished the East Coast, putting a damper on my Christmas shopping.  It was no worry though because shopping on the Internet is a 24/7 business.  Humanity has certainly been affected by the positive influence of the Internet on our daily lives.  I doubt that many humans would want to return to a life without it.
